The school for feminist writing, FEM 101.02 that we organized with the feminist platform Meduza, examined humor through the prism of feminist resistance in some of the lectures and worskops. The aim of the school was to prepare the participants for a nuanced and in-depth reading of feminist narratives, argumentative writing and advocacy through creative expression. Through block lectures and workshops, participants were introduced to key concepts in feminist thought and gender studies.

The school consisted of 5 lectures and 7 workshops, happening for almost a three months period, starting from March 15th, 2022.

Knowledge of feminist history, resistance strategies, and methods of creative feminist expression can strengthen us in the fight against gender inequality, help us critically re-examine power relations, gender relations, and our own positions. For that purpose, the trainings were led by renowned theorists, professors, feminists with extensive experience and knowledge in the fields the school was focusing on: Irena Cvetkovikj, Ana Martinovska, Sheleva, Adrijana Zaharijevikj, Jani Sunden, Emilija Petreska-Kamenjarovska, Rumena Buzarovska, Jana Jakimovska and Kumjana Novakova.

For the duration of the school, the participants had the opportunity to try their hands at some practical assignments, as well as to be contributors for Meduza’s online platform by creating and publishing their written work after finishing the school. Their creative work will result in a fanzine with the participants’ texts, which we will further promote.
