We are especially pleased that this year's festival for feminist culture and action - FIRSTBORN GIRL includes a conversation about critical articulation and new forms of resistance by philosophers who focus their thinking and their work in the academic sphere on political-subversive topics for the global context of nowadays.
On May 29, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. we will have the honour to host an unusual event (rad road talks) at MMA within the festival program of FIRSTBORN GIRL, a conversation between Senka Anastasova and Jodi Dean on the topic of intersectional humanism today. Jodi Dean is an exceptional American political theorist, philosopher, and professor of political science and media theory at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, NY, USA. Senka Anastasova is a philosopher and a professor of aesthetics and political philosophy at the University "St. Cyril and Methodius" - Skopje.
This Anastasova - Dean meeting is also part of the long-term collaboration of these two authors within the framework of rethinking the resistance against the capitalist system, class, race, political-economic subversions and social rearticulation, as well as (post)colonial relations and contemporary feminist political theory in USA and Europe. This talk is part of the series of critical-philosophical panel talks that Anastasova leads in different locations around the world, and this spring will take place in Skopje. First, Jodi Dean will give her lecture on: "Lessons from Black Communist Women." The talk will also build on Dean's latest book (which she co-edited with Ch.Burden-Stelly), titled "Organize, Fight, Win: Black Communist Women’s Political Writing" communist women's political writings") published by Verso and Anastasova's latest book from the domain of feminist epistemology, entitled "Political Narratosophy", published by Routledge Press, 2023.
Jodi Dean's publications are positioned at the innovative lucid intersection between freedom, solidarity, political theory, cultural policies, art and politics, revolution, practices of resistance, black women, labour politics, radical democracy, post-democracy, anarcho-fragmentism, new fascism, as well as exploring new forms of struggle against capitalism, in the United States and Europe. Dean subversively considers the East-West relationship, as well as cultural studies and political theory, viewed through the legacy of communism, the critique of digital feudalism, environmental apocalypticism, new media and the arts, socialism, extreme economic inequality, communication capitalism, technocracy, the Soviet Union, feminism and social justice, and in these few years her research has been related to political contexts in Southeast Europe.
Senka Anastasova will develop this conversation with Jodi Dean, from the position of a member of the international board of Hypatia - Journal of Feminist Philosophy, USA.
The event was realized in cooperation with PRVO PA ZENSKO, MSU and the Studio for Aesthetics and Political Philosophy.

Ky takim Anastasova - Dean është gjithashtu pjesë e bashkëpunimit afatgjatë të këtyre dy autorëve në kuadër të rimendimit të rezistencës ndaj sistemit kapitalist, klasës, racës, përmbysjeve politiko-ekonomike dhe riartikulimit shoqëror, si dhe marrëdhënieve (post)koloniale dhe teorisë politike bashkëkohore feministe në SHBA dhe Evropë. Kjo bisedë është pjesë e serisë së paneleve kritiko-filozofike që Anastasova i udhëheq në vende të ndryshme nëpër botë dhe këtë pranverë do të mbahet në Shkup. Së pari, Jodi Dean do ta mbajë leksionin e saj me temë: "Mësime nga gratë komuniste të zeza". Botimet e Jodi Dean janë pozicionuar në kryqëzimin inovativ lucid midis lirisë, solidaritetit, teorisë politike, politikave kulturore, artit dhe politikës, revolucionit, praktikave të rezistencës, grave të zeza, politikës së punës, demokracisë radikale, post-demokracisë, anarko-fragmentizmit, fashizmit të ri, si dhe eksplorimit të formave të reja të luftës kundër kapitalizmit, në Shtetet e Bashkuara dhe Evropë. Dean i konsideron në mënyrë subversive marrëdhënien Lindje-Perëndim, si dhe studimet kulturore dhe teorinë politike, të vëzhguar përmes trashëgimisë së komunizmit, kritikës së feudalizmit digjital, apokalipticizmit mjedisor, mediave dhe arteve të reja, socializmit, pabarazisë ekstreme ekonomike, kapitalizmit të komunikimit, teknokracisë, Bashkimit Sovjetik, feminizmit dhe drejtësisë sociale dhe në këto pak vite kërkimet e saj kanë qenë të lidhura me kontekstet politike në Evropën Juglindore.
Senka Anastasova do ta zhvillojë këtë bisedë me Jodi Dean si anëtare e bordit ndërkombëtar të Hypatia - Journal of Feminist Philosophy, SHBA.
